We are the exclusive manufacturer of the original Monroe hourglass styling brush,  the multi-tasking Teasedale brush, and other fabulousness that helps you create beautiful, healthy hair.


We believe your hairbrush is the most important tool for creating healthy, beautiful hair.

When you have the right brush for your hair, it gives you control and speed to get out the door and on with your day. When you have more great hair days you have more confidence, and we believe everyone deserves more of that!

The right brush is more powerful than you think.

You select your shampoo, conditioner and styling products based on your hair type and goals. You cleanse, tone and moisturize your skin with the right product for each step of the process. Well, we say you should use that same logic for the tools you use to style your hair. No matter your hair type or hair goals, we have the right brush for you…but it might not be the same one we’d recommend to your friend! You should have at least 3 brushes in your kit, to prep, style and finish from wet to set. The right brush kit means less hot tools, less damage and less styling products. We’re committed to educating consumers and pros about the importance of using the right tools for the job, for better results, healthier hair and a happier you.

It all started with a gift.

The original Monroe hourglass brushes were made in Colombia and became popular among celebrity stylists and salon pros because they reduced stress on the wrist while providing powerful tension and control for straightening even the curliest hair, all the way from roots to ends (this was during the heyday of the flat ironed look). Monroe Brush’s head of North American marketing gave his wife a Monroe brush, and planted the seed for what is now Brushopolis.

“From salon pros to consumers, everyone has a hair story and  it’s very gratifying to provide a product and service that go beyond expectations. I’ve worked in the professional beauty industry my entire career, with top brands like Aveda, Intelligent Nutrients, Wella, Conair, Sassoon Academy and even the legendary Vidal Sassoon himself. In my early days travelling with the extraordinary Horst Rechelbacher, founder of Aveda, I saw first-hand how purpose, passion and dedication can build a business against all odds. Years later, I was marketing Monroe Brush in North America and had rarely seen a product with such an avid fan base among pro stylists. I gave a Monroe Etiquette brush to my wife, Anne, and she was blown away by how great it worked and improved her hair health. We realized that the hairbrush was missing from the healthy hair equation. So we bought the brand and set out to disrupt the hair-care dialogue by adding our personalized hair brushes into the conversation. We want Brushopolis to be the destination for high-quality, effective products and education that help everyone have more great hair days.”

“I am fascinated by the emotional connection between brands and their fans, and I love creating a great experience for our customers. I’ve crafted brand strategy, content and consumer experiences for clients as diverse as Prince, Spielberg, SC Johnson, Disney, Walmart, and Aveda as well as entertainment companies in Asia, Europe and North America. I’ve always been a “beautyphile”, not shy about trying out the latest hair and makeup trends. I even created and produced the first television show to be endorsed by the Professional Beauty Association! The first time I used the Monroe Etiquette, I was thrilled with the smooth, shiny volume I got from my blow dry, no flattening iron needed. After a month of use, I noticed that my hair was consistently looking good and feeling good, and I was using fewer styling products (nice on the wallet). After several months, I could finally grow my hair past my chin without excess breakage! I couldn’t wait to share my discovery with my sister and all my friends. I discovered that the industry promotes a bad hair day cycle, convincing us that we need hot tools to style our hair, and then selling us high-margin shampoo, conditioner and stylers to fix the damage (most of which really don’t fix it). So when Mark said ‘let’s help everyone find the perfect brush for their hair’ I said ‘heck yeah!’ and we founded Brushopolis.”

Even though we’ve been working on this for a few years, we’re just getting started. Moving the manufacturing to the US took a couple years, but it was worth it for the quality and efficiency, not to mention the ability to create more jobs and pride in American made! We are committed to making brushes that are built to last, with the highest quality materials available and designed for high performance. Stay tuned!
